Emotional Support Animal Letters

I am happy to support you in obtaining an Emotional Support Animal (ESA) letter for housing or travel needs, when clinically appropriate.
In the picture above, is my sweet cat, Penelope, who is my emotional support animal. Emotional Support Animals can play a meaningful role in supporting mental health and daily functioning for many people.
An Emotional Support Animal letter does not require a public disclosure of your diagnosis. During our appointment, we’ll talk about how your animal supports your mental health and functioning, and I will assess whether an ESA letter is clinically appropriate. If so, I will write and provide the letter during or shortly after our session.
The appointment is intended to be quick and painless! My goal is to make this process respectful, straightforward, and supportive. I am here as a licensed mental health professional to provide a clinical evaluation and documentation when appropriate. All appointments are conducted via telehealth.

Frequently Asked Questions
I accept credit card, HSA, and FSA for the $90 session fee for a 30-mnute appointment. If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill for potential reimbursement. Reimbursement is determined by your insurance company and cannot be guaranteed. Please note that if you use insurance, your insurance provider will receive a diagnosis.
Here is my process for emotional support animal letters:
1. You would send me an email to let me know you want an emotional support animal letter, and the deadline by which you need the letter. Please also include a range of dates and times you are available for the appointment.
2. I would e-mail you back within 24 hours, Monday through Thursday, and send you some scheduling options.
3. We agree to a date and time that works for both of us.
4. I send you the standard counseling paperwork to read and sign. For the intake questionnaire, you can write as little or as much as you want. Note: Please fill out the paperwork prior to 24 hours to your appointment. If you have not filled out the paperwork before then, I will assume you are not able to make the appointment and I will cancel it. You will have one opportunity to reschedule and attend your appointment.
5. I also send you a Google calendar meeting invite for the agreed upon date and time. All times are in Pacific time, and per counseling legal rules, you must reside in Washington or Florida, where I am licensed.
6. We meet for the session, I write the letter, sign it, and send it to you within the same day! If you want any adjustments, and/or if the place you are sending the appointment requires any adjustments, please send me an email, and I will make the requested changes within a few days, free of charge. :)
